Haha...I mean, everyone secretly knows that the reason they preferred the Christopher Roy Pike books over the RL Stine books was due to the explicit sex scenes. I never got to the Final Friends trilogy, but I do remember Fall into Darkness (which was later made into a movie starring Tatyana Ali and Jonathan Brandis--suicide it), Monster, Slumber Party, and Die Softly passing away many a rainy day.

Never read any Ron Lee Stine myself, but I plowed through roughly 4,286 Chris Pike books between 1992 and 1996. Those novels were a nice mix of terror and teenage fucking. The Final Friends Trilogy highlighted the summer of '93.

Kid,

I've got a signed copy of Scary Stories... I'll have to show it to you sometime.

James and the Giant Peach was a classic for the ages.

Goosebumps was a bit too tame for my tastes, but I did enjoy the RL Stine and Christopher Pike books such as "Chain Letter" and "Master of Murder" back in the day.

Hahaha I remember those, especially Sideways Stories from Wayside School. Those were great!

My list would have RL Stine Goosebumps on it, but otherwise, it's real close to this.

This is a classic list of some of my favorite YA books. Thanks for sharing. My nieces really enjoy <a href="http://www.queengeeksocialclub.com/book.html" rel="nofollow">Laura Preble "Queen Geeks in Love"</a> and her Queen Geek Social Club series. While it may not be classics yet, they have some possibility to be.
