The Golden Age of the Internet

BY THEBOSTONBACHELOR.COM / June 11, 2008
If you can nod your head in recognition to any of the following items below, then chances are you’ve lived through and experienced the Golden Age of the Internet.
- You’ve waited 3 hours to log onto AOL.
- You’ve been kicked off of FTP servers for “hammering.”
- You had a Juno email account.
- When someone asked to borrow your Prodigy CD, you weren’t sure if he was referring to your copy of Firestarter or the dialup trial CD you got in the mail.
- You thought Google was the name of a South Indian dish.
- The words “Razor 1911 vs. Class rivalry” actually mean something to you.
- You’ve been IM-bombed.
- You’ve corrected people on the pronunciation of “warez.”
- You once thought that a 56k modem was just overkill.
- You’ve marveled at the beauty of “frames.”
- You were given millions of dollars to start an online business that earned approximately 27 rubles in gross profits.
- You’ve wondered if Bangbus was real.

Kid,
That sound dial up modems would make during startup will go right down in history along with the Mario and Mike Tyson’s Punch Out theme. I used to hum to it as I sat back and sipped an apple juice as my cpu slowly connected to the internet. Boy have times changed kid.
P.S. There is an advertisemet on the sidebar selling C’s tickets with Gerald Green dunking the basketball… High comedy.
“You know, you shouldn’t be looking at these sites.”
What an asshole.
Bang bus isn’t real??
